The Post-first degree LLB programme is a three-year course divided into six (6) semesters, with two semesters each year running from August to December and from February to the end of June. Students who wish to become lawyers will be expected to complete the 7 core courses required for admission into the Ghana School of Law, which is the next stage in the process of qualifying as a lawyer in Ghana.
In addition to these 7 core subjects, the LLB students will be expected to study eleven (11) other law subjects including Jurisprudence for the 3-year course of study.
Year 1
Year 1 consists of four (4) ‘core’ Law subjects of Ghana Legal System and Legal Method, Constitutional Law I & II, Criminal Law I & II and Law of Contract I & II, together with two (2) compulsory law subjects, Law of Torts I & II and Public International Law I & II.
