This 11-week online course offers a comprehensive and yet simple explanation of the law and regulation of capital markets in terms of evolution of financial capitalism, emergence of companies from early forms to modern corporations, the legal nature of securities and legal framework of public and private securities transactions. The course, while explaining the nature of corporations and securities, investigates the legal and economic reasons for enacting securities regulation as public law rules during the 20th century and the subsequent developments. The course touches upon the market failures and contract law failures which have triggered the introduction of regulatory laws to tackle agency problem and asymmetric information between the issuers and the investors and the other legal measures adopted to combat insider dealing, market manipulation and other forms of market abuse in capital markets. This course uniquely adopts an international approach contextualised for Ghana, and is brought to you by MountCrest University College in collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London.
This 10-week online course offers a unique combination of topics related to legal aspects of
international trade and finance. It consists of various aspects of the rapidly changing
international contractual structure of international finance including simple term loans
transactions, syndicated loans, equity and debt securities, project finance as well as legal aspects of international payment including letters of credit and other methods of payment. This course uniquely adopts an international approach contextualised for Ghana, and is brought to you by MountCrest University College in collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London.
This course introduces participants to concepts in data collection and management, protocol development, regulatory affairs and research proposal writing, writing grant applications, conducting applied field research, report-writing and presentation of findings.
Given the relevance of observing standards and protocols in health studies meticulously, this course will focus on techniques for critical appraisal of empirical medical research and the basic principles in research design.
Our fundamentals in Ghanaian Law is an excellent and ideal preparatory course that equips Ghanaian LL.B. graduates or holders of equivalent law degrees from universities in other common law jurisdictions with the required proficiency levels in academic skills and fundamental Ghanaian Law subjects, required by the General Legal Council for entry into the Ghana Law School.
This intensive course is designed to teach effective writing techniques to law students preparing for examinations. Students will receive instructions in the techniques that constitute the elements of a first-class essay for a competitive advantage.
